Last night, my serioso and I shared a couple glasses of wine together. We made an agreement beforehand that I would limit myself to two glasses and I stuck to that agreement.

Did I want more?

I did, and I felt that pull that usually leads me to wanting more but I allowed myself to acknowledge it, observe it and let it pass - which it did.

I felt uncomfortable and I also felt I was cheating myself but, given that we both agreed to it, my serioso was supportive.

Sooo... I have had a drink after a month away from it.

hmmm, baby steps then. Maybe a good thing, maybe a slippery slope? Maybe for you the self awareness is the key?

With your episode, what were you drinking? Pints, the hard stuff, a mix?

The episode a month ago was beer - pints.

i find different boozes cause different reactions. my worst drinking episodes always revolve around wine, my man likes to call it whine. I have strict rules now about wine. No more then 1 bottle in an evening, must be with food. If no food, 2 glass maximum. never buy litres, only 750ml bottles.

There are only 4 glasses in a bottle but holy fuck....The crying sessions, the number of times the head has been in the toilet, the weird migraine hang over.....I nearly ruined my very good relationship with a sister in law over too many glasses....it's not good.

Your beer is my wine

Different types of booze can have drastic differences with moods, behaviors, etc. I don't wanna get too technical but it basically has to do with the sugar to alcohol content and your body's ability to metabolize both. Also how much food and water you have in your system before boozing.

That's cool you stuck to 2 glasses. That self-control is a lot more than most have. Maybe beer is the thing your body simply can't handle well. I hate to encourage more drinking after such an embarrassing shitshow but maybe try 3 glasses of wine and see how it goes

Not eating is major. Your body absorbs whatever it gets. If it's only alcohol, bad news.
