Your beer is my wine
Red wine causes headaches, white doesn't. The sulfites in red wine cause them.

wtf I sound like a professional drunk.

In amomgst the hours and hours of talking we've done about the situation, we've identified that my serioso is most worried when we are out in social situations where the "beers are flowing" per se. That's when my inability to control myself really comes out.

We went out for an 18th birthday a couple weeks ago and I didn't touch a drop and I didn't mind. We're going out for dinner this weekend with friends with whom I have been notoriously loose with the glass and again, my plan is not to drink at all.

Red wine probably messes with me the most - usually the shits and the vomits. Whites do give me a headache so I'm less inclined to drink those anyway. Spirits - especially vodka - has me singing bad 70's West Coast love songs at the top of my lungs. Beer - of all of them is my chosen vice - but I have a shatterpoint, usually 6 or 7 pints after which my inner cunt kicks in and I'm lost to reason.

So - the behavior modification starts now.

If I can stick to this 2 drink limit at home, then I can enjoy it and not frighten shit out of my family.

7 pints would make anyone a cunt, or just sleep.

Take it slow. It really just sounds like you just had entirely too much one night. Pay attention to the limit where you start feeling like it feels ok to act like a jackass and stop. At that point you can still realize that holy fuck you're gonna regret it tomorrow.

I DJ'd at a dance club for 2 years and in that short time, have seen lots.

Ok, enough alcohol advice. lol

Problem is Deej - this wasn't an isolated event. This was another in an increasingly long line of events over an extended period that I have been too stubborn to acknowledge.

I find white gives me moar of a headache and hangover than red.

Red turns my poo dark green, but I can live with that.

You guys are encouraging him, but next week we're going to see a thread about how Dean had 10 pints then fingered a kangaroo and raped the postman in front of his kids. I don't like this one bit.

I think i can leave your poo tidbit out of my next installment scumtimonious.

Gag

Dean, it sounds like the wine is perfect because the limiting point is so physical for you so you think you'll never go too far. Maybe you won't and you will be like your dad and be able to enjoy the social drink. I know for my dad he quit cold turkey for good but he drank the hard stuff i believe.

I think this path you are on is a risk but you won't know until you try if you can be a social drinker.

Good luck, keep us posted. This is an interesting journey because most of us have done things when we were drunk that made us think never again! So what is never again really like.....here it is.

I don't see the downside here.

Maybe it's just my "glass half full" attitude.
