Over my dead, cirrhosis-riddled body.
CHAT PARTY, FRIDAY NIGHT. 8PM EST. Live show. Drinks. Tits. Dicks. Cunts. Sluts. The whole shebang. Get a goddamn webcam and kiss your honey goodbye 'cause it's time to get shitty. ...and uh... good on ya, Dean. Proud of you. Stay strong. |

And when family and friends came over to play video games and jerk off with you, what did you tell them? Did you share your problem or say you were on antibiotics? |

Like I said, take what works and leave the rest. Meetings aren't a Christian thing unless you're Christian.
There are meetings for agnostics that include atheists as well. Lots of people in the meeting see the "God" text in the material as an acronym for Good Orderly Direction. Its just a way of leaning on something more powerful than yourself. The group can be your G.O.D. A lightbulb can be your G.O.D. just so long as it's not you. You've tried you and it doesn't work. Make any sense? |

Don't make it be a light bulb though. That's silly.

It's also always comforted me that AA is there should I ever need it. I don't THINK alcohol was my problem (although it can be very quickly in the same way as Dean) however if it ever crosses that line again I HAVE to quit for goods. Not worth it. And this is me holding myself accountable to yous guys. |

I said it a few posts back that I didn't see it before now - or rather, I refused to see it before now - but this has been accumulating over a number of years and I just can't see any other way forward at this point but to stop completely. Which is the worst as I regarded myself as something of a wine snob and more recently, a beer wanker. My local serves up a bunch of micro brewers regularly and they make for great tasting as well as getting royally shit faced on. And I have a collection of wines that I cannot bear the thought of getting rid of.
But the flip side is pretty compelling too... ...lose everything. I'm still not totally decided on AA. I'm sure the whole god thing isn't as big a deal as it first appeared to me but it's the idea of the group thing that concerns me. I do have a therapist who was treating me after I was assaulted at work so I should really check in with her about this. She is a good egg and I did get some benefit from her counsel.
