Ripping DVD's is illegal and should not be done. Excuse me while I go torrent Borat.

I got one too. What I've found so far are two programs. You need both, but both are free.

One is DVD Decrypter and the other one is Videora iPod Converter. There is a guide showing how to use these two programs to get your DVD's on to your iPod.

http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html#1000

It's easy, but it takes a long time.

There might be better software out there, but this is the best I've found so far.

When I had an iPod, I used Jodix Free iPod Video Converter LINK, and it worked great for me. The quality isn't that good if you try to watch it in iTunes, but it works fine on the iPod.

The actual process of ripping is technically not illegal so long as you own the DVD you are ripping and aren't giving it away to people. The movie companies would have to believe otherwise but that is truly the case. DVD encryption is what should be illegal. Who are they to decide what we can and cannot do with our own copies of a DVD.

cool thanks

I also believe it is perfectly legal for me to watch my dvds on any medium i wish. I will check out handbrake and the other progs. The movies on itunes are rediculous. Why would I pay the same price as a dvd for a movie on my ipod when I can't put it on dvd? The shows are really resonable I think though. Case in point is the anime they have up. 2 dollars per ep when each anime dvd is 30 dollars for 3-4 eps is really good. I also don't mind dropping 2 bucks to watch mythbusters on the train to work. Anyhow, thanks a lot for the help. I will let you all know how it goes. ~BJ
