Am J Public Health. 1999 Oct;89(10):1549-54. - teen pot smokers are more likely to be unemployed later in life, not graduating from high school, having the perception that drugs, alcohol and/or cigarettes are not harmful

Genet Soc Gen Psychol Monogr. 1999 May;125(2):193-207. - teen pot smokers have greater difficulty adapting to adult reponisbilities and are more likely to be unemployed and having children in unstable environments

shall i keep going? these are all peer-reviewed scientific journals.

point #2: divorce costs taxpayer money, wars cost taxpayer money. i don't understand how you can be against one way of wasting money and not another? waste is waste, otherwise you are a hypocrite.

your mom's divorce is atypical. if your only frame of reference is her divorce and that of your friend's parents you are dealing with a very small sample size. there have been 7 divorces in my immediate family (more than 300% of your sample) and NONE of them have gone well. add to this the divorces of my coworkers and friends and i can tell you that all of them ended badly. severe depression, bankruptcy, loss of property, violence. those are more common outcomes.

your views on counseling are your OPINION. counseling works well for millions of people in the united states. just because you are unwilling to listen to others doesn't mean the the 300 million other people who live here feel the same way you do.

i am tired of debating this with you because it isnt really a debate. you insult me, say my ideas are bogus and are unsupported. furthermore, you completed discounted my own life experience of helping people who have had their lives destroyed by depression and substance abuse.

instead you come at me with anecdotes about your mom's divorce and a very adolesecent view about how the world works (namely that you can do whatever you want and never have to deal with responsibility or consequences)
