The only reason I voted "no" is because right now married couples have tax breaks because they're married and that's ok it a gay couple are a "couple".
I think a can of worms will be opened up if say two straight guys(or gals) get "married" just for the marriage benefit or for other benefit the goverment gives out.

It already happened in Canada where two buds got married just for a goverment tax break.

I've known a few hetero couples that got married to get a tax break. And when the military used to give more money to a soldier for each child, there were some retarded people that kept making more and more as if an extra $20 was going to help. Then the army stopped paying that way. Funny shit..

About 3 times over the years, I calculated my taxes if my partner (Lickmyballssuckmy and the GIRL) and we filed as single and if we filed jointly and I didn't see a big difference. Maybe it happens in a tax bracket I don't hang out in.

Put webcams in these peoples houses so we can see if they are actually fucking and broadcast it on a website called paltax.com. Contrary to popular belief, married people are supposed to do that. i dont understand your reasoning. married couples get tax breaks; its ok if gays do, too; therefore no gay marriage?

fraud isnt promoted by giving gays the right to wed either. plenty of straight friends do it and everyone knows about it. plenty of people wed an immigrant, sometimes for money, so that person can attain citizenship.

then there are common law spouses who the govt declared married automatically. they get the same benefits as other married people dropped onto their lap because they lived together too long.

i say the govt should stop forcing and banning people from marriage. who are these laws benefitting?
