I worked every day this weekend. WDWDN?
Pro: I'm working over 40 hours this week which means it is a bit more money
Con: I'm not making 1.5x for working on the weekend Con: I'm not making 2.0x for working on a Holiday Pro: August is my 2 year mark so this will be leverage for my raise Con: Haven't had a raise since I've worked here Con: Destroyed my weekend Pro: I'm charging for half the hours I played WoW during any down time I had. Con: Project is taking way longer than it should and it isn't going well. Pro: Boss is out next week. Con: I haven't slept well in three days Pro: I've had help on the project with someone in India Con: I've had no help from any co-workers I could go on, but this is a good start. I deserve a raise, I know if I'm not getting one I'll be leaving, but where should my cut off be? I don't know. Maybe this job is just plain too ridiculous. Maybe I shouldn't be working on a holiday weekend. Maybe if I was better at this job it would have worked the first time and I wouldn't have to troubleshoot. Any thoughts? |
The simplest way to increase your salary is a 3 step process.
1) Kill your boss. 2) Cut off his face and wear it like a mask. 3) Collect his paychecks. |

I think nobody should have to work weekends or public holidays. My wife however always says "we all have choices". Seems harsh, but she is right. If you don't like what you do, quit & go do something else. Believe me, the world will still be spinning tomorrow morning, you quitting will not stall the planet.
Best of luck ....... but always be happy |
If you're military though it makes the quitting part a little more difficult
