My most common ones:
![]() ![]() ![]() And if I want something on the lighter side: ![]() which is Mexico's version of Bud Light. I used to stay away from the top three, because they were too hoppy, too bitter, but I grew into them. Realized what a bunch of flavorless beers more dominating companies produced and made the switch. I enjoy microbreweries, so I try to hit up at least one whatever town I am in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In approximate order of frequency. Blue Moon for a clean taste, Bass for a taste that seems most beer-like to me, Hoegaarden for something interesting, Guinness for a dark beer, Dead Guy Ale because it tastes like honey. Also, why is Dead Guy Ale so expensive? It's $8 for a 22oz bottle around here (not sold in 6-packs), which would mean a 6-pack is $26, 3x the price of everything else. +1 for Blue Moon, although the bar I go to most frequently now doesn't have Blue Moon, but instead has Shock Top, which is Anheuser-Busch's answer to Blue Moon, and tastes very close.
![]() Other than that, I really like more local stuff, like just about anything from Saranac, including Black Forest -- the best dark beer I've ever had: ![]() I would include Magic Hat as local, too, since I'm only about an hour from Burlington. Finally, if money's tight and I want beer, I head for this: ![]() |

Gas stations in Illinois don't have beer, but grocery stores have not only that, but hard liquor and wine, which I found amazing being from New York. |
