iPod Sorting Songs By Playcount?

So my new iPod appears to be sorting song within albums by playcount instead of track number. I don't like this and would like to fix it for good. So far the only thing I have been able to do is delete the album from iTunes and re-add it. Any suggestions?

make a smart play list and base it on what you like ratings genre etc, use shuffle songs in the iPod settings menu, change the sort order in iTunes(doesnt change anything on the iPod itself)

Yeah, I've tried resetting all of the viewing settings in iTunes, nothing seems to work. I guess I'm gonna have to uninstall and redo the whole library and all that crap.

while i thought there was an option somewhere, in fact what I remembered was an option to play the more popular songs (based on rating) more. I can't find that at the moment, but somebody can. Although this probably isn't your issue.

iPod firmware can't sort by playcount, something else is off.

Double check that shuffle is off, and that your track numbers are correct in iTunes.

You can do that in smart playlists:



There's also a shuffle setting called "smart shuffle" that allows shuffle modes to be completely random, or based on blocks of artists.
