Nah, I'd like one with a screen for a start so that rules out the Shuffle. I have quite a few Creative MP3 players and they have some great features that Apple one's will probably never have. But I never used the featues that make them unique and got used to the Nano's interface.

I get 15 hours out of my iPod Video. Here's the thing: the new iPods are all flash; there are no more hard drives in disc form as we know them. Flash is everything. A 30 gig video iPod is awsome, as no nano can store both music and KATG.

Just don't get a shuffle, even thought the new ones are fucking awesome

edit: Found a 4gb for 130 yesterday at Buy.com. There is an 8gb but I don't know how much more it is.

I don't suggest getting an iPod. I've heard that 80% of iPods stop working after 1 year (when the warranty expires). Try a different mp3 player.

You might have heard that, but it doesn't make it true.

Wow. I'll have some of what you're smoking. Where did you read this? Or did your idea of a hard drive change. "no more hard drives in disc form as we know them"? I don't even know what that sentence means.

Here's the thing Cubby: Maybe before you make such an uneducated statement, you should try the simple reference point? such as http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html

I have a new 30GB Ipod video, it's sweet and handles the podcasts well. I had a 4th gen b4 and this new 5th gen is bad ass, the battery lasts a good 4 hours longer.

The new Ipod videos with the brighter screens, the 5.5 gen, have even better batteries according to Apple. Scope that shit out, yo.

My favorite feature of the new iTunes so far...

I keep my iTunes library on an external drive. Previously, everytime I disconnected/reconnected the drive, I would need to point iTunes back to my external drive.. it would default to iTunes dir whenever the drive was dismounted. With 7.0 it remembers the address to my external drive, whether connected or not.

I also like that you no longer have to run the ipod updater to update the software for the ipod. It will do this when you sync your ipod to itunes. one less step.

I'm curious to know if the people who say iTUnes 7 sucks and is broken, if you are on the latest OSX or windows.

I've heard that 80% of statistics are made up.
