Got up at 7:30am, got ready, went to the train station, caught the train to York, and now we are in York waiting to go to the Ghost Hunt tour

there's plenty of light, you just need a longer exposure, turn the ISO down and rest the camera on something like a wall, or use a small tripod. If you have a night shot mode try that as well, it's usually a new moon icon.

i shoot a oly camedia C-350 zoom, you need to rest it on a wall.

this is from Krakow, think it was resting on a road sign.

i just thought, is the flash turned off, that makes a difference. it probably defaults to 1/90th a second with flash, too short an exposure for the light level.
