Today was all about Florence, and Florence was AWESOME!

Morning coffee at the local bar. Best coffee ever. Seriously.

Shopping at the market.

Afternoon coffee. Still the best, but more expensive in the afternoon

Looked like you had an awesome day. Yeah Florence i! It's so fucking much stairs!!!!!! At a certain time you really do get the feeling your in some weird matrix loop, there just is no end to those stairs. But when you finally get to the top it sure is beautiful.

And also gives you some really nice material for 'miniature' photo's.
Check out my photo's of Italy and especially florence; http://www.flickr.com/photos/babblin...7602404153987/ (don't pay attention to all those crazy kids).
You'll probably recognize a lot of places ^^ So run into those crazy asians who want to write your name in calligraphy? Or maybe all those ni... uhmm.. africans who sell all those fake gucci bags and what not?

It was so fucking funny. A friend of mine wanted to buy some faggy gucci manbag. He wanted it for 10 but the african sir only wanted to sell it for 20. But then the police came, and while the african picked up his cloth with all his bags he offered the manbag for 10, and just before he ran away he threw the bag to my friend. So funny!!! We also saw a whole group of africans ran away. Such a funny sight.

Ahw.. Florence, the town of tall towers, good coffee and running niggers x'D

The ceiling of the Duomo.
It's amazingly gorgeous.

This is what they're going to do to you if you go to hell

The view from the very top of the Duomo.
Jo and I walked up 463 fucking steps for that.
Well worth it I think.
And yes, we did have a cigarette when we got to the top lol.

Studies show that 3 out of 3 NZ women agree that today was a good day

Decisions were made: - one week in and our team positions have been finalised:

Bebe - in charge of the map and all navigation everywhere, making sure we get where we are going and back again
jorjo - in charge of day planning and ensuring the day is therefore not spent sleeping or  on the interwebz
Meagle - in charge of being pretty and attracting all the "looking up and down", along with the "nice ass" and "molto bene" comments

To date, apart from moving from city to city we haven't used any public transport - we are "walkers", including a walk up 463 steps to the top of the Duomo in Florence - well worth the view. As a side note, we thought the queue we were in was to get inside the Duomo, and it was only after paying that we realised the only way to go was UP!! LoL

And so to the pics ...

We saw some awesome statues - this one is Rape of the Sabine Women, by Giovanni Bologna - completed in 1583

And paul_r - we went here too ...

Wonderful photos. Dare I say it -- they have improved since you started . Looks like you're getting excellent weather, too. When we did our tour of Europe years ago, we were also walkers. You just see so much more. And food, even shitty food, tastes better when you're tired but happy .

I am so jealous right now - Florence is great!

New Years resolution for 2008: Take at least one trip to Italy.

okies, we're back from dinner. I don't think any 3 other people could have as many lolz as we did while as sober as we were.

To start with, here is our dinner ...

I had the pizza with Italian spicy sausage, eggplant and olives
HPIM0434.JPG

Bebe had the spicy tomato penne pasta
HPIM0435.JPG

Meagle had chicken and chips
HPIM0436.JPG

On the way home we came across a giant door. My apologies for the poor quality pic but my camera battery was so low it wouldn't even show the image I was taking a photo of. A little story is required here - the idea was to take a pic of Meagle hanging from the door handle, but she had a bit of trouble with getting up there - leg boosts weren't working so we resorted to having her stand on Bebe's back. Many, many lolz as we tried to avoid the notice of pedestrians and car occupants. . Eventually Meagle did manage to grab hold of the handle but dropped before the pic was taken, so this image is of Meagle landing back on the ground and Bebe getting up off her hands and knees (yah, I know, we should have left that in the shot ) and trying to get out of camera range ...
HPIM0437.JPG

And this is a pair of much lower, and therefore more manageable door handles ...
