I loved this episode. It seemed very, very relaxed, like a perfect fit. Keith and Chemda are both amazing interviewers and even better interviewees. The didn't skirt any questions, they answered each question with the genuine style they have on their show....a frankness that makes the show so engaging. Marc didn't hold back and I found him more aggressive and , frankly, real, then any of his other shows this year. I love WTF, Marc Maron is great, he excelled in this interview but , in my opinion, because the guest fed him the goodfunnies, kept the conversation rolling and didn't shy way once.

I was really impressed with Keith's defense if his comedic decisions. That being said, I don't understand how anybody could not have respect for Keith as a comic or his craft. He and Chemda spend a full hour every day in front of a live audience making funnies. How easy it is to rehearse a routine, getting the timing perfect, and preforming that same set night after night, sometimes for years. Every KATG episode requires new jokes, spur of the moment humour, flow of consciousnes kind of comedy. In my mind what Katg does daily is way more of a challenge to the art of comedy then a traditional stand up set. The more KATG defends Keiths stance on one gala a year, the more credit they give to the misguided idea that what KATG do every day isn't "real comedy".

Marc Maron should know, he does his show twice a week and it's recorded, edited and then presented. KATG records live 5days a week.

To be fair though Campy, you're missing the distinction that pros make between being a "stand-up comic" and being a "comedian". Your Marcs and your Jesses and your Christians aren't saying that what KATG do every day isn't "real comedy", they're saying what Keith does once a year isn't "real stand-up comedy".

You would call what Tina Fey and Will Ferrell do "real comedy", right? But they're not doing stand-up. Likewise what Keith and Chemda do every day is "real comedy" without being stand-up. I'm on Keith's side in all this, but lets not put words into the mouths of his nemesi that they're not saying.

On second thoughts, lets. Being fair is boring.

The real distinction is Keith's fans buy his CDs. A real standup comic's fans don't buy CDs.

Haha, that's so true. When Marc asked, "Who buys your CDs?" with that snarky tone, and then Keith said his fans, I don't think Marc understood that's a good thing.

What a great episode. After being a fan of K&C for going on 7 years now i'm really enjoying seeing all their hard work pay off. When I first started listening KATG was the only podcast worth listening to, and now that there are several quality podcasts they're still the only one that I will never miss an episode of.

KATG and WTF are the only two podcasts I follow religiously. They're both really funny and have an honest integrity that's original and compellingly different from each other and any other podcast offerings. I hope that other listeners of both podcasts can listen to both with an open mind and understand what each has to offer. Marc's got a weird energy that seems confrontational at times, but if you give him a chance you'll see that it's born of old insecurities and demons that he's turned toward a paradoxical self reflective humility. It makes for great shows because it brings out the most honest interviews from his guests. As for Keith and Chemda we all know how brilliantly funny and original their content is. Love them all so much!

Man, KATG and then Colt Cabana are the greatest two back to back guests any podcast has ever had. I can go back to not listening to WTF now, right?
