KATG Publicity Idea

So I'm in the Apple Store and messing around with an AppleTV and I go into the Podcasts section and find KATG. I figure they would have it blocked, but they do NOT! So I pick an episode and hit play. Unfortunately the large monitor has it's own sound system so pretty much the entire store gets to hear "Hey, all you assholes come and listen to us...." blasting with me furiously punching the down volume button, which didn't work at all. I finally hit pause right after the prayer started.

So this has got to be a good thing for all KATG listeners to do, right? Queue up and episode and walk away. Just watch the volume here in the Bible belt....

I highly recommend it. I remember a couple of years back someone writing in to the show saying they went to their WalMart, or wherever it was, over the holidays and got on the store's PA system and told everyone to download KATG on the ipods they were buying for their friends and families.

I can imagine the looks on all the hipsters faces when that intro started blaring. Nice work.

Another cool thing to do - and I'm sure it has been mentioned in the past - is to change all the default browser homepages in public places like the library, computer stores, Internet cafes or school computer labs to KATG.com. Many have things blocked so you can't, but some don't.

Leave a sticker with your tip at bars and restaurants, but only if you tip reasonably well.

I've left them with tips/signed cc slips, but only if the people look cool enough to listen. My mom actually helped me leave those also and she doesn't like the show at all.

I usually stick to bathrooms, though there aren't many listeners in Nebraska, apparently someone got to the mens bathroom at my normal bar before I did, but I made sure that a new sticker got put up.

I like the idea of making katg.com the home page!!!
