Get Big Jim to KATG Week!!

Hi fellow KATGers, long time no see! Life has gotten in the way and I miss my friends and this community. I've met some amazing people here and really have discovered myself through the nine years listening to KATG. And even though I haven't been active on the forums or show, Keith and The Girl always seems like home. I have friends here I haven't seen in years, but we can pick up right where we left off every time we meet like lifelong buds. There's no doubt we share a special bond, and I hope I can add more great friends who listen to the show in the many years to come.

I'm writing to basically ask for your help. I've had some financial woes, like I'm sure many others have, and it looks like I won't be able to come to New York this April for KATG Week for the first time in six years. I've been privileged to open for Keith's annual stand-up show twice, thanks to your support and votes, and preform stand-up four times during KATG Week, including my first ever live set on stage five years ago. I can't believe it's been that long.

I was hoping to take my amazing girlfriend to New York this year, a city she has always wanted to visit, to meet all of you and introduce her to the show and community, but basically, I'm broke, and there's no way I can make the trip without relying on the generously of others.

And here's the part where I grovel and ask for any help you can give.

If there is any group lodging together or a person who can spare a bed, I'm a great roommate who will cook and clean. Or if you live in NY and can put a pair up, that's amazing. Heck, Gunner and I last year cooked a whole barbecue dinner at the house we were staying where Danny had his threesome. And I did dishes every day! Being a giant, I can also reach things up high, and people don't mess with you in public when you're around me. They don't call me Big Jim for nothing. I'm also easy to get along with and a great conversationalist. I'm also a KATG Week veteran and can show you the ropes around NYC and the people and events.

Heck, I hope to bring back the infamous pre-event meet-ups , where you get to know everybody and get the party going before the party gets going.

Also, any monetary donations would be a huge help with airfare. If you can donate anything - $5, $10 ect. - I'd so appreciate it. Comment on this thread or private message me and I can give you my PayPal, or you can find me at www.facebook.com/voteforbigjim If I don't raise enough and you donate, I'll PayPal you the money back.

It's embarrassing to ask for help, but I also know the generosity of the KATG community. If you can help us get to NYC, great. If not, thanks for reading and listening to the show. I'm extremely proud of Keith and Chemda on their nine years of the show. They're special people who do special things and have positively affected the lives of so many, including me.

If you're going to KATG Week, have a blast. I hope to see you there.

- Big Jim

see, Jim, the thing is this community banded together and got me there last year. i think we can do the same for you fuckin' gladly. you're Big Jim for christ sake.

chat party fundraiser?

i can seriously attest to his bad assery as an addition to any group living situation. the BBQ was out of this world and the kitchen was clean more than it wasn't with 12 people in it largely thanks to his verve and gumption.

That BBQ was amazing and I can absolutely vouch for Jim being an amazing person to share a place with and also an all around sweetheart in general.

We met for the first time when I came to my first April 15th week and he was one of the first people to say hi and make me feel welcome.

I will probably not be able to make it myself this year (although my boss is teasing a NYC business trip in April so there is still a tiny bit of hope to catch the end of it) but sign me up for donations for sure :-)

Let's schedule that chat party and drum up some donations!!!
