Reasons? Well, first off, I like getting tattooed and this was #10 for me, so not the first time under the needle.

As for my choice of tattoo: I've been listening to KatG since October 2005. That was a bit of a shaky point in my life, during which KatG provided a lot of laughs and lessons. The laughter helped brighten my perspective on life, while at the same time, their "fuck what others think" attitude was helping me develop a stronger self-esteem. Hell, using the "What do we do now" line with the Army doctor that fucked up my ankle surgery got me an additional month of time off with full pay.

As for the L'Chaim bit: First, I like the meaning "to life", but even more so, it is one of those words that I have only heard on KatG, and one which reminds me of KatG instantly, kind of like "brumski". L'Chaim was a more appealing choice for the tattoo. Also, being an atheist with a very low tolerance for religion, I have often had fun with saying L'Chaim. On occasion I'll find my self stuck in a church for a friend's wedding. After each time there is a prayer, I say "L'Chaim" instead of "Amen" like everyone else. It makes me smile inside and I have to fight the laughter back.

Well well well Mr.Ryan. I'm sufficiently turned on, both by the tattoo and by your body hair. I look forward to seeing you in April. Has your wife made up her mind yet?
