Except instead of make a poll, because I'm impatient. I've already made a wikia: Keith and The Girl Wiki All you have to do to start editing is sign up. I'll start appropriating information from the website and the Wikipedia page, but I'll need help. If you want to join on and edit, I simply request that you keep information impartial, as if you were writing for Wikipedia. Hopefully people are into this, because it would be way to much writing for just me! Any thoughts/suggestions? I'm all ears. |

I'm spending a little time figuring out the wiki syntax so I can add info boxes to pages and things like that. I think that some people might shy away from editing the actual wiki (but I encourage it!) so I will just sorta post things that I need help finding.
What important episodes, sayings, and things do people commonly ask about? What do you think MUST have a page? |

I started a Patrice page, FWIW. I don't know what kinda format you want to implement, so I didn't add much. For example, for guests we could have

Hey Ellis, thanks!
I think that the format I'm going to go with is basically whats happening on Chemdas Page for people. So: Name A small one sentence blurb about them On The Show A paragraph about them as a guest such as if they are/were on the show frequently, any on going KATG events they maybe involved in, and so on. Sub categories of this would be KATG awards and notable shows for the guest that may help a new listener understand the history they have with the host. Career A bit about the guests personal career if information is known about them. Thats what I'm thinking. I hope that will be pretty flexible. With show things like Lick My Suck My, what I'm looking for is basically a paragraph explaining it, and then a list of episodes where it first appears and where its explained and such. Sorry I haven't had time to put but so much in, hopefully I'll be able to start filling in the gaps soon. I don't have either of the KATG books because I'm terribly broke, So if I write anything about those it'll just be based on whats been said on the show. If anyone with either book would like to write a slightly more informed blurb for them, Id greatly appreciate it. Edit: oh sorry ellis, you ninja edited on me. That sounds pretty much like what I have going on. Memerable moments/quotes is a great Idea, and sort of fall into the On The Show section, they can be sub categories. Ideally, KATG should just have katg.com/wiki on their site that can control their own ads and be better integrated with the site. But I think it's fairly easy to import from wikia to other wikis.
People should probably write up on current guests/stories so newcomers can catch up on the details of what they're listening to. Going back, some notable history that probably belongs on the wiki is: Max Darwin, DJ Quad, Spooky, SBF, Bruno, Jeremy/gumby, Coconut, Podshow, Dawn & Drew, Nick Starr, KATG and Twitter. Was Newsy an intern? Also, FireFox has had a spellcheck by default for years now, turn it on.

I do have a spell checker, In chrome, It doesn't seem to work in the wikia box. I don't really know why. I planned to just throw the small sections I did in word, but time got away from me and I had to work on some other stuff. I'm not much of a proof reader, sticklers for grammar should edit at will.
I know about some of those things and not others, I listen a lot but I get pretty big gaps when I get busy with school or work. Feel free to add whatever pages you want DWarrior, I was just trying to get the ball rolling. Maybe if the wiki has a decent amount of content, Keith/Chemda will want to look into getting some software loaded on the site. It would give more flexibility with how it looks. I've heard newsy refereed to as an intern a few times, I think it was maybe less official and he was just helping out here and there, I'm not sure. |
