Legendary Mars Bar being demolished

For some odd reason, the last two years while I was in NYC I found myself walking right past Mars Bar. Each time I went in, alone, for a second to check it out then walked right out. Nothing interested me in there. I guess I wanted to go in just to say I went in and survived. This place is a shit hole, and not in a good way if there even is such a thing.

Treating Missile Command so badly is a travesty. The owner should have to go door to door in the neighborhood and tell everyone that he abuses classic video games.

I went by Mars Bar in a taxi during April 15th this year and I had to shudder, the place looked like it was going to transmit something on you if you got anywhere near it.

Yeah, the Mars Bar is a shithole and a disgusting if intriguing landmark.

However, it's also the VERY FIRST BAR I was ever served at. It was the only one even in New York I thought I could drink at while underage, and lo and behold, I did. As foul as it is, I credit this place as one of the first steps to your aunt Helen's life of neverending debauchery, and I'll be sad to know it's gone.

RIP, Mars Bar. May you stink up a corner in Heaven.
