The last couple of series I went through and LOVED was The Song of Ice & Fire series by George RR Martin and the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson. I don't have a favorite author but I do keep coming back to Poppy Z. Brite's books and I've loved everything I've read so far.

I'm not really a fiction guy, it's entertaining, but nothing specific sticks out in my mind.
There are several nonfiction books that noticeably changed my conception of the world. They're all pretty challenging reads. 1. GEB (reading it is a pretty monumental undertaking. Intense nerds only.) 2. The Selfish Gene (the book's thesis is not how the title sounds. It's not about genes for selfishness. I haven't studied much bio, so this was pretty eye opening) 3. Guns, Germs, and Steel (again, the book's thesis is not the title.) 4. The Concept of Mind 5. Practical Programming for Strength Training request sent! googdreads.com/DWarrior

I read comics. I just get whatever I can get and request through the NY public library.
I just finished JSA: The Liberty Files. It was shit. I'm currently reading Jack Kirby's The Demon. It's an omnibus of the history of the Demon Etrigan. |

Also, I just finished Scott Sigler's new book, Nocturnal, as well as Michael Ian Black's new memoir, both of which I highly recommend. Currently reading Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway which is funny and weird as hell. |

I don't have a favourite of all time but I love the shit out of Chuck Yeager's autobiography and have read that four times. Fiction-wise it's probably a tie between Terry Pratchett's Night Watch and Bryce Courtenay's The Power Of One.
There's also an epic and long running thread already in existence here if anybody wants to get down and dirty amongst a whole bunch of book talk, although I totally get why Albi wouldn't have found it in a search. http://www.keithandthegirl.com/forum...ure-books-197/ Quote:
