Skype (or similar) on iPod Touch

Does anyone out there have this working?

Are calls clear on both ends using typical 500kb hot spots?

Does anyone have recommendations for microphones that use the dock connector, for use with the 1st generation touch? This seems to be the only one out there that has room to plug in headphones. Its fucking huge and a bit pricey.

I've tried it a few times on the iPhone. It works well enough - but you've got to give it a few seconds for the connection to "clear up".

Not sure if it's worth buying a microphone adapter for though...

Bluetooth should be working on your iPhone now. I would get a headset.[LIST]

Here's a good review of the App: Review: Skype, Inc. Skype | iLounge

Edit: Sorry, my earbuds look like they only work with Gen 2 touch. Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic - Apple Store (U.S.)
I actually have those buds. Sadly, they do only work on the 2nd generation touch. They work for voice recording and playback control on my 4th gen nano, but they are only ear buds on the 1st generation touch (won't control playback or record sound).
