Minecraft Discussion

Might as well make its own thread, so we're not clogging up the game thread.

My latest projects:

Nuclear power plant (with two cooling towers):

Airport with terminal and control tower visible:

View of the runway from the tower:

In case you're curious, I'm using the same texture pack the creator of this video used:

Someone please let me know when the client allows you to change the controls, that's the one thing keeping me from playing.

I'm not entirely sure about the in browser version, but in the downloaded version you can change the controls.

And those are some pretty cool setups there flux!

Thanks for that, typ. Thread wouldn't be the same without your insight.

Thanks. The only thing that bothers me is that they're not to scale, given the convention that each chunk is a 1 meter cube, but oh well, it's just for fun. The multiplayer server I play on just got 3 new regular members, so it's turning into a full fledged city. One is building the Eiffel Tower, another just built a courthouse (complete with holding cells and large courtroom), so it's coming along pretty neat.

Definitely a fun game for those of you still considering it.

My recently completed scale model of the Sears Tower:

Nice! I haven't gotten far enough to start building scale models of things. All I have so far is my little floating home base (with attached water-elevator that eventually I'll make the support glass). The floating island thing also has room for a few trees to keep me funded with wood (har har). Then down below I have torches lighting the cross section (and soon perimeter) of an area I'm trying to level! Hooray!

I like the look of using the actual logs instead of planks for the flooring material. I may have to steal that for whatever I build next.
