The Minecraft Forums erupted with anger at the update and the bugs that came with it. Kinda funny to watch. Glad I'm not too "far" into the game and am just leveling out a field!

And unless DudeEMETIB figured out the server then no there isn't one currently set up. I haven't talked to him recently to see if his last attempt at setting it up actually worked.

It's sad, really. A couple weeks ago when the server was being DDoSed it came up that 4chan's video game board was to blame. Why did they do it? Because they were pissed at the lack of updates.

Notch clearly notes that you're basically giving your money to him, and getting whatever he dishes out. The game's in ALPHA. There's no guarantee of quality or anything like that.

Exactly! It seems like a lot of people think this is a fully completed game. We're the investors (in a sense) and testers, so the only way to really control where our money goes is to test the game... find bugs... and just report those bugs to Notch. One of the biggest complaints I've seen is the Mob Spawners for some people stopped working even though it was utilizing a bug in the game.

I did notice changes right away though... I was trying to finish up one section of mining as it was turning dark. Well when I was running to my base for safety a group of 5 creepers converged on me... it was quite frightening! I don't mind that though

I haven't experienced many bugs really. The only one that's really noticeable was that the "memory used" or whatever it says kept saying 0.0kb.

Score! I haven't explored much beyond my area to really find pumpkins...

Anyway... 1/4th of my huge project is done! I've cleared and leveled a 72x73 block area. due to this I've developed some reeeallly dark caverns underneath that flat ground which I'm thinking of using as a small mob farmer hopefully to generate more gunpowder with which to make clearing mountains easier.

The SMP server I play on has been buggin' out lately, so I really haven't played much with the new updates. Anything worth noting?

Well Creepers are ... better creepers. I've been exploded by at least 10 creepers who I never even knew they were there since the update (and I tend to look around a lot and work only in the daytime)!

But otherwise not for me since I've just been doing brunt work.

Guh, creepers ARE being more creeper-y. I got jumped by three creepers at once coming out of my mine DX
