My recent NYC trip: Dangerfield's, Pat Dixon
I live in Maryland, but have been able to make a few events
1) I went to Sacapuntas a couple of years ago, and met some KATG'ers there - Newsy and Falling Windows. 2) I went to a Ben Lerman show in Washington DC (Met some local KATG'ers there..hi Laura and Russel!) 3) I was able to make it up to NYC for a few of the April 15th events (yay! AWESOME time there. Got to meet Keith and Chemda for the first time there) 4) Saw the live show in Washington, DC So, over Thanksgiving, I went up to DC to visit family. But, no events going on because they were on vacation, Chemda on the west coast, etc. So, I decide to check out what was going on at The Creek and The Cave, which is where the Match Game was in April. No one I recognized was playing, but I liked the place and the food, so decided to go to one of the shows. I'm having dinner before the show, and asked the waiter if it was upstairs or downstairs. He wasn't sure, so he asked the lady at the next table, who turned out to be the owner/manager, Rebecca! She said, sorry, the show was cancelled, and apologized for not removing it from the website. I was a little disappointed. I told her I came here because I liked it when I came for the KATG show in April, and she was happy about that, then the guy sitting with her suggested I go to Dangerfield's in Manhatten. He then introduced himself...Pat Dixon. OH! My first time meeting him, so I didn't recognize him. Awesome. He asked if I was listening to the NYC Crime Report podcast yet, and I had to admit that I was meaning to, but hadn't started listening yet. So, I ended up seeing the comedy show at Dangerfield's, which was great. Pat Dixon's set was the second best set of the night. |

BTW, just kidding. Pat's was the best set of the night. He killed.
I learned by listening to KATG that comedians love it when people hint that they liked someone else better. It motivates them to hone their craft. ![]() Quote:
