I'm for sure not one to defend the league of douchebags that race in and follow NASCAR, but just because someone is exceptionally smart in one subject or category that doesn't exactly take away from them being "smart" or make them only "car smart". One of my best friends is a "Nuclear Engineer" he's as smart as it comes when it comes to that kind of stuff, but he's very lacking in common sense, or really any extensive knowledge of anything outside of his field, so would that just make him "nuclear engineering smart"?

Then you are aware that NASCAR has its roots in bootlegging. The rest of your post should be immediately discarded as way too obvious to bother posting.

This is the same argument that comes up at the start of any sport's season. NASCAR drivers are dumb, baseball is boring, football players don't get caught with prostitutes because they eat them, tennis is run by the mafia, "Straight" ice skaters exist.

You either like a sport or you don't. Every sport has a level of skill and a level of athleticism that is required. You can't just say that anyone could do something. If they could why are the athletes getting paid so much.

I went to a nascar event this past summer in New Hampshire and took a bunch of pictures. I posted them to my blog and made smart assed comments about them. My inlaws are into it and asked if I'd like to go with them. I think it's a silly "sport" but figured I'd give the whole experience a chance. It was a trip. Are you 22? Do you have an 8000 word vocabulary? Are you overconfident?
You may just be the next big NASCAR sensation!
Get over yourself. NASCAR pulls in billions, how many billions do you pull in?
