FLCL is a trip.
Also for comedy you should watch Azumanga Daiho. It's the only comedy I've seen and I enjoyed it. About Avatar I think it would have been much much better if it wasn't made for kids. It's still good. |

Death Note is a cool idea, but is definitely more akin to a sci-fi drama TV show than it is an action anime. I have all the books and really dig it, and there's a dubbed version of the anime.
