New York City ~ What to Do?
Heading to the Big City on Friday to spend the weekend with my wife, we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Any suggestions on what to do?
Despite being wed for 25 years we are not that old. In short we are not a couple of old fucks. |

What kind of things are you looking for?
Dining - Low key? Fancy as all fuck? Entertainment - dancing? Music? Comedy? Sightseeing - museums? Tall buildings? Neighborhoods? Etc. |

Low Key, but good ethnic food. I don't want to eat dogs, cats and bugs, but just good fun interesting places. Entertainment, we are already going to Cirque du Soliel. Dancing would be like 80's 90s or even newer EDM, deadmau5 etc. We are going to MOMA and Empire State building as it is near where we are staying on 5th ave. We don't drink a lot, (fucking clean living like Lenny Marcus), maybe a beer or two once a month, so that isn't important. I like going to stand-up shows, but the wife isn't into it that much. |

Sorry I'm responding back late, but here are some ideas.
Eat in Chinatown. Definitely low key. Many good places, but I'm not sure the names. You can check Yelp for the more higher rated places. I'm asking a friend for the place he goes to. I'll post that later if I hear back. A good place in Times Square is Virgil's BBQ. A great beer bar near where you're staying is Rattle N Hum. They have food too and definitely low key. If you want a notch more upscale, try The Ginger Man, also in the area. In case you want your beer or two. ![]() I have to say, I'm not the best to ask for the club scene. Sorry about that. One cool thing to do is to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the A or C train to High Street then walk back into Manhattan. Chinatown isn't far from the other side of the bridge. So you could get dinner after that. If you have any other questions, post away. |

Things not to do in New York. When a New Yorker comes up beside you coughing up a lung on 5th avenue, it is apparently inappropriate to say, "This is how Contagion started". ![]() Cirque was incredible. |
