NYC open mics
so I'm hoping to make a trip to NYC this summer and would love the experience of testing out some of the standup I've written in front of a tough audience. The few times I've been on a mic in front of a crowd before have all been for an audience consisting largely of people I know (school talent show, local arts festival, etc.) and I want to see how I fare in front of a tough audience.
I'm hoping to find a venue with a high-to-guaranteed chance of me being on stage, as my time there is pretty scant and I want to maximize my chance of getting on mic. Also, if you've had a bad experience with a certain venue, I'd love to hear it so I know to skip looking at it. So far considering the Bowery's NYC Talent show (with Victor and Diane), one of the Moth Storyslams, and the Sunday open Mic at New York Comedy Club. tl;dr Anyone know of any decent open mics in NYC? |

You might want to check out badslava.com for open mic suggestions. Also call the venues ahead of time to know their rules, regulations, if they're still doing open mics, etc.
