Sometimes it's good to be a crazy, scary bastard. My own sweet adorable grandpa was a career Marine, and a Drill Sergeant. My father served as a Marine in the Vietnam war.

Possibly because these men with whom I have very positive relationships are Marines, I understand and hold no reservations of rosy thoughts about the kind of training or encouragement that a Marine receives. Many people are unable to separate combat from real life.

And what part of combat isn't real life? Or are you trying to say that there are individuals who are unable to act appropriately when their situation changes? For example, there are those who have served honorably in the armed forces who have trouble adjusting to civilian life; and there are those who have been recipients of say - government assistance who have trouble adjusting to the realities of paying their own way; and those who retire after a lifetime of productive work who find themselves unable to adjust to their new "relaxed" lifestyle. If that was what you meant, I agree, there are such people out there. I do not, however, believe that they represent the majority of any of those groups. Do you?

It is a good thing. I'd happily lend you the mental scars from my brain if it would help you find satisfaction.

I believe that there's a reason a Marine is a Marine.

I'm sure he represents all Marines the same way Al Sharpton represents all blacks and Michael Jackson represent all Catholic Priests and I represent all White Dudes With Shaved Heads.

Either work on your pronouns or quit hitting your retarded brother.

I meant it more in the vein of, "Hey all Marines, go visit this guy who says this is the kind of stuff you do. Show him how much you agree with him."
