Is this a scam?

So i need some help deciding if i should go to this and if it's 100% scamish.....

i just received in my mail an "invite" from the company "Internet Income Training" for myself and a guest to go to a "free" conference about selling on on the internet......i.e. e-bay, yahoo, google, and msn.

It looks like some entrepreneur thing that you get a free lunch or dinner (at one of the top hotels in my area) if you sit through a 90 minute conference.

Now i know they are going to try to sell me shit, which i can avoid and say no to, but is it worth sitting through this in order to get a free dinner for me and a guest? (oh and for me and my guest to also get a free organizer? hahaha)

Has anybody been offered this before and gone? I tried researching the company a while back when i first was offered this but couldn't find anything so i didn't go.....

Any advice or help (or asinine comments) would be appreciated.....

I've never heard of anything like that, so I'm no help. I'm also cheap with a lot of time on my hands, so I'd go. Who cares if it's a scam, the worst that can happen is that you walk away with a funny story, right?

If the offer says 90minutes, I'm sure they'll run to 2 hrs....not to mention your travel time.

Are they serving a banquet dinner to attendees or giving you a gift certificate to use at a later time? If they're serving, expect cheap wedding style steamed chicken (episode 334?).

Your time and your pal's has got to be worth more than a cheap dinner. I'm sure if you want free stuff there's a time-share company nearby that will score you something worth a lot more.

sounds like a time-share sales meeting, dinner wont be worth it or after you sign up or they'll have some heavies to pressure you.
