Sept 11 - does it still weird you out?
I work in a University Office where I have to sign off on forms, etc. for students.
Every year when I have to write Sept. 11 as the current date i get the creeps and remember where I was at the time. Anybody else still feel this? |

It only weirds me out when I hear all the fake "a nation mourns" stuff everywhere I go. Not that I don't believe people should have their grief, but it was 7 years ago, can we stop poking our finger in the wound?

I don't feel it as much because it's been twisted and exploited so mercilessly by politicians. Christ, Guiliani ran on a 9/11 platform. They took the humanity out of the tragedy.
But if I stop and think about the actual people that day it's still sad. Riding the bus in to work today I saw that my local town (suburb of Madison) put out a row of American flags in the median of the main drag and suddenly I got a little teary. |

I'm no more weirded out by 9/11
than 12/7 or any other date of a terrible disaster/event. I understand that for some people it's a day that'll never be the same I understand it was indeed a horrible event that happened and anyone has a reason to grieve over it... but in general, I think it's long past the time to get over it. |
