I'm only weirded out when Bin Ladin releases another tape. We can put a man on the moon but can't catch that guy. Nice.

Maybe we could just put him on the moon ... that would work out alright for me. I still like Ron White's description of why Osama should get prison instead of the death penalty.

Nope. Time has put terrorism in perspective too. I remember being genuinely concerned about bio or chem attacks for a few months after 9/11.
Looking back it illustrates that even if there is another terrible attack, the odds of it "getting" me are almost nil, and how we react is what gives the religious nuts the satisfaction. We were in much greater danger during the cold war than we are now. I hope we continue to be vigilant with constitutional persuit of terrorists, but I also hope that we don't lose any of our rights in order to prevent another small event (small in relation to other risks, like driving a car). Terrorists win when we over-react Last edited by jeffdrafttech; 09-11-2008 at 02:11 PM. Reason: spelling |

Yep, I have to thank president Bush for desensitizing it for me by using it everytime he wanted to justify the Iraq war, and even since then.
I don't feel anymore safe then I did pre-9/11, however I don't feel any less safe eitehr. Even at the time watching all the propaganda about how to tape off the spaces in doors and windows in case of a bio attack. Hearing that I thought "what about the air ducts and shit you can't necessarily get to? Then realized what a bunch of idiots they were and knew that they could do nothing to help. It kinda reminded me of the "take cover" campagn during the beginning of the cold war. Yeah, that will stop the nuclear bomb from incenerating you. It's nothing short of a false sense of security. Kinda like locks on doors.
