Sure.... Your perception of such a thing... Doesn't mean it is though... I can't make an argument if you point at something and say it's red when it's black, because you perforce it that way then sure.. You see red, everyone else sees black......

I just think some people believe in crazy things and debating them encourages them to be entrenched into am idea that is false... Specifically when it's based on a belief and stories not facts....

I can definitely talk about Harry Potter or the bible and what kind of arguments it brings about in being a human being ... Moral arguments, blah blah blah, but they are both made up stories, just want to make sure 'we' are starting off on the same foot.

It's late I wonder if that made sense

I guess I have been doing that in a sense, but that's more in the spirit of friendly debate, and discussion related to the podcast.

When I said beliefs on that post I mean more, religious/whatever. I really couldn't care less if any of you share my religion or my beliefs.

I've been at least trying to debate things that aren't quite so subjective on the thread.

maybe if we frame it as a conversation and not an argument it would suit better? it's exploration not a cage fight. who gives a shit who's right and what's real if we end up finding truth along the way?

Oh I'm not taking the word 'argument/argue' like mommy and daddy are getting a divorce because of me.... I understand it as a debate/conversation.... Maybe just one where I'll say people are crazy for believing in "X" one time and move on... Lol

debate and conversation aren't the same thing. the latter isn't about winning or changing minds (even though minds are often changed in the course of conversation). pro-tip: don't start off with the supposition the things you don't understand or see are crazy. it's less fun that way and terribly insulting; you won't get anywhere and it kicks off your unwillingness to stretch your mind.
