You're talking about subjective evaluations of technology and software.

I already tried to tell you that people's perspectives and needs are different, and most people who buy Macs do not need a Mac to have better technology than a PC because their life does not have any need for it, and most people don't need the relative openness Windows has because their life does not have any need for it, but you continue to talk about those things, which means that you've made a subjective evaluation for yourself and judged people's intelligence solely according to that evaluation.

I have already stated that there are plenty of things you have the capacity to know about but don't because you don't give a fuck. Similarly, some people don't give a fuck about computers.

If you understood what I said in the first place, you wouldn't be telling me about the quality of the hardware or software in a Mac, and you wouldn't be ignoring my point about ease of accessibility being a desirable thing to some lifestyles.

I've never said Macs weren't the right choice for some people. I said Macs can't do shit. Your response was to say that some people don't want their computers do shit. That's not adverse to what I said.
After that, I agreed with you. I said "Right." followed by stating that people do buy Macs just for the brand name.

True, the open source OS boom of the 90's put Microsoft and Apple out of business. People were just dying for open source software back then.

In terms of Jobs being a genius, I have to argue why the definition of a genius can only be applied to the person who developed the technology, rather than to the person who managed to simplify it for the lay person and make it appealing to the masses. Jobs did not invent touch-screen technology, but he did create a device which revolutionized the cell phone industry. He also lit a fire under other tech companies, forcing them to step up and compete and create competitive products. Today, a good half of all cell phone users use touch-screen smart phones, and that happened because of the iPhone. What's not genius about taking a product and revolutionizing an industry with it? It seems the definition of genius that you are using is a bit too narrow.

What I said is not contradictory. Some people buy Macs just for the brand name. Also, Macs work better for some people.
I never said people are idiots for wanting mainstreamed devices. I said that people want mainstream devices because they are idiots.
