hey mine really does, i do a lot of work with the MDA, Komen Foundation, used to work for UNICEF so i still do stuff with them, and the united way...at least 3 days a week is spent with these organizations after my regular work hours..

After hearing that do you want to know what I really think? I think this girl is selfish and immature. It's not like you're out partying with your boys, looking for hook-ups, and getting wasted...you're devoting your time to worthwhile causes, to helping others, and having a positive impact on the world. That's more than can be said for most, and she should be appreciative of the fact that she's found someone who geniunely cares about the world they live in rather than the typical asshole who thinks the world revolves around them.

Have you asked her to volunteer with you?

i have asked her before, and she has come along with me a few times when i go to the children's hospital...but the other stuff usually involves attending events and smoozing up to the rich and trying to get money...so no need to invite her to that...but when i tell her i am going to a gala event at the musuem for example benefiting unicef she will come and then complain about being bored...so its a no-win situation most of the time...

elle you want be my girlfriend? you can come with me to these ritzy events get dressed up and eat and drink for free...it will be like prom well hopefully

Well you'd have to run it by my boyfriend and strafer, but if they both say yes I'd down...I like getting dressed up

My idea of gettin dressed up is changin out of my robe.....JK I have a couple very nice suits and jackets that if i must say so myself i look pretty damn suave in

It sounds like you need to find a girlfriend who is as in to it as you are.

I was doing a lot of non-profit volunteer work along with school and my real job when I met my boyfriend. I was out three days a week and most every weekend. We really didn't see each other, but as our relationship got more serious, I started to take more behind the scenes and less time consuming work. The whole reason that I was taking those time consuming positions was for the social aspect of them anyways. I don't know about UNICEF, but I was able to move from doing major event planning, and holding chairmanships to going to one boring (but equally important) board meeting every other month and giving an equally boring report. Just because it's not black tie doesn't mean it's not essential to the smooth function of your organization.

And it's not like I felt like I was giving up something for my boyfriend, or even made any of these transitions consciously, I just knew that I wanted to be spending more time with him. If your priority is being exactly this way and no other in terms of how you manage your time, and her feelings towards charity balls are as such, it's not bad to break up with someone because you want different things, that's the whole point of dating.
