I like Oregon. I would like to go there next year.
The literal projections are contaminations will affect California and the entire west coast in 6 months. Just because the media isn't covering how sincerely fucked this radiation / contamination is from Japan and it's affects doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention. You are in Georgia. You aren't near the pacific ocean. Give it time. You'll care. |

how about you not derail my thread on page 2. there's plenty of room for a nuclear disaster discussion. you are an unbanned man. new thread away!
also, assuming i don't care about or keep up with environmental disaster because i wanted a focused discussion on another topic is silly. allow me to give you a welcome back: fuck you. Last edited by Sparrow; 09-08-2013 at 03:33 PM. |

Ep, your fukashima thing is valid, i vote new thread.
Now, back to syria...Some one suggested on my fb that Putin is the only leader with any balls, he's the only one standing up to the mis East bullshit saying....let them deal with this, i'm calling their bluff. Of course, theres money, and russian interests invested in syria tainting that theory but it does seem like a fresh perspective to me. aside from the obvious, securing american oil, what other real reason has obama got to embroil himself in this Syrian shit storm....because of the children...? Bullshit. If securing the safe passage of oil means global financial stability and the maintenance of america as a super power then say that no? This chemical weapons thing is just a pretty package to spin to the world. |

Sparrow, I didn't mean to derail your thread. When I hear about Syria, I literally think 'There is so much more facing America right now. The best example would be Fukushima. I apologize. Happy Syria thread. It's a lovely thread. A little bland though. It could use some pep. Like...some more cock. And. A kitten. Preferably lodged into someone's asshole. I know just the man. Scummo! Where are ya. I'd love to hear his opinion on this matter. |

i think that's the frustrating thing. there /are/ bigger things happening. that's what i meant by thousands of more pressing humanitarian issues, that are within our power to affect, than this one in Syria.
BUT, it is historically significant. one of those turning points. and it's terribly exciting for this early century gal. also, please make fukashima thread. |

I'd be in favour of you guys wiping Syria off the fucking map.
Go all Croc Dundee on their arses: "That's not a WMD, THIS is a WMD" and then nuke the fuckers. What I hate to see service men & women being maimed and killed for some bullshit political position (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan). |

In 2008 Obama told the world he'd continue Bush's foreign policy and nobody gave a shit after YEARS of liberals screeching and whining about Bush, and yet the entire American left fucking worshipped Obama's bullshit, so I now give as much of a crap about what the American public thinks as the government does: zero.

fear. it's cheap and effective. there will be bloodshed. things are going to get really bad. they have to. we won't move until they are. it has to happen here or we won't care. i have a feeling someone domestic, pretty, and white dying at our hands will kick it off. then, oh my friends, when the trigger pulls, the floodgates open, and whatever comes comes, we'll have an opportunity to build again. history is long. one of our issues in how we deal with this kind of thing is how short-sighted we've become. things like this work on long arcs. wars, largely, do not get won or lost over single battles along the way--and i believe in my soul our government views us as the enemy as we traditionally and by our constitution have held the power (is why they're degrading its integrity). what's happening now is the latest in things happening for more than 50 years. they're after us. they've divided us. they're conspiring to keep us poor and ill educated; to forget and lose our agency. our best weapon is our millennial generation educating themselves, reviving and feeling deep a sense of community among each other on a global scale, and giving a shit. we have to care; about each other, about the constitution, about our country, about our future. we /have/ to care or we've already lost. |
