Mormonism is fucking dangerous. More dangerous than Obama as a Christian/ closet Atheist? Absolutely.

Here is a [direct] thought on Syria.

All bombs are chemical. It is insane to think that killing people with American bombs is somehow more humane than the Syrian chemical gassing.

I see your point though. I just don't know why anyone would personally be against it if it consists of consenting adults.
prostitution has historically offered the savvy woman independence. polygamy rarely afforded a woman anything but a child a year.

Mormon polygamy... If the wife and I wanted to marry a 3rd, I feel like we should be allowed to. Who would that harm? If we had a kid (lol) it would have 3 parents. Weird to explain at school but more caretakers is better, isn't it?

Not Free Spirited/ Just Plain Rape

There's a story in the book about this 56 yr old 'prophet' with 3 wives. Apparently, God told him that his seed and his alone would bring about the return of Jesus.

So he did what any good fundamentalist Mormon would do. He 'married' (simply began raping - with the 3 wives blessing) his 12 yr old daughter. Apparently, God forgot that 12 yr old girls are pre-pubescent and incapable of getting pregnant, (with the return of baby Jesus.) So he disowned her at age 13. After a year of repeated rape.

This girl is now in her 20's and explains how she is worried for her 5 sisters. All of whom will be married/ raped upon their 12th birthday.

Polygamy isn't the problem. It's in the context of absolute crazy, that is, the Mormon faith.

It's not free spirited, consenting adults, doing their thing, in a communal setting. Seriously, check out the book. Mitt Romney's father actually came from a fairly famous Mormon sect in Mexico. Why are they in Mexico? Well, it's easier to rape/ marry little girls there.

This being said, I'm still disappointed with Obama. He confuses me to no end.

What a gross, simplistic view of people you happen to disagree with. You don't think there as many or more single issue voters on the right? (Guns, abortions, gays, teaching science in schools, etc.) I can probably list a dozen reasons why I voted for Obama and a handful more where I wish he had different positions (including gay marriage in 2008).

Also, are you seriously calling gay marriage a politicized minority issue? If a politician doesn't think a gay person deserves every single right as a heterosexual, then every other word out of their mouth is suspect. That's as stupid as thinking the world is 6000 years old or that evolution isn't real.

On the subject at hand, none of us know how President Romney would react to the slaughter in Syria. Because the Republican party lined up behind Obama when he started to warm up the missiles, I'd wager that Romney would have taken similar, if not identical, actions.

I'm so sick of this red vs. blue bullshit and entrenched ideologies. Talk about specific issues, or shut your fucking trap.

Oh, I don't think it will be legal anytime soon. I'm just saying it should be. I don't know what percent of folks are polyamourous, but I feel like it's a repressed minority not unlike homosexuals 15-20 years ago. Homosexuality was considered a micro-minority issue because not many folks were out due to fear of being ostracized. It wasn't long ago that all gay dudes were called pedophiles... and it wasn't all that long ago that Rick Santorum placed homosexuality on the same plane as bestiality. I know you're not saying this, but blaming child marriage and rape on polygamy would probably be offensive to "normal" polyamourous folks.

The ban on polygamy isn't preventing child marriage, coercion, and rape anyway... target the cults and let adults do what adults do.

Russel Brand on Syria, Fashion and Nazism

It starts 1 minute in so give it a second, but Russell Brand has a brilliant zinger of a comment concerning Syria. As well as American fashion companies complicit in Nazi murder.

Again, hold your opinion of Russell. This one is good.
