Jim's letter:

The Keith and The Girl family lost one of its own this week when Anthony Hartman, aka WindowsandDoors, 22, of Los Molinos, Calif., passed away Monday, May 27, 2008.
Anthony loved to bowl and loved Dr. Who, but the Keith and The Girl show, its community and the KATG family were a huge part of his life.
On Aug. 18, 2007, Anthony wrote in a blog: “I feel fantastic. I made some new friends the other day, and they are the best. We met on PalTalk in a room for KATG (www.ketihandthegirl.com). So I just want to take this opportunity to say hi to Rhiann, Brenda and Cheese (I don’t know why he’s called Cheese, but whateves). OK, till next time, keep on strokin’.'”

Anthony was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers, beer and boobs. He was a red-blooded American male and a guy’s guy. He spent many nights on PalTalk talking with his friends and trying to charm titties out for the cameras. He was no Brother Love, but he’d get the job done. Out of all the KATG listeners, he probably had more screen captures of boobs from PalTalk than anybody else.
Anthony was a special friend to many of us and he will be terribly missed. He was a hilarious, great guy who put his friends first. He was always there for you and always had something to say that would make you laugh.
Some of us who knew him well wanted to share a few memories in celebration of his life. We were lucky to have him as part of our lives and hope that the way Anthony lived can inspire others to be a better person.

UgrabMyDrumstick: “The significant thing was, I don't know if I remember him ever being nasty about anyone. I really remember him, more than anyone else when I posted, being just, nice. … I always saw WaD, being friendly and making jokes with people. He was just a genuinely nice guy. And when a person is so honestly positive about life on a place like the Internet, where we all exploit the free and open invitation to be a dickhead about everything, it really is impressive to me.”

Jorjo: “I loved his voice, his sense of humour, his impatience, the way he'd tell me off. We'd watch movies together and have Dr Who marathons - sometimes we'd spend an entire Sunday watching Dr Who. He made me laugh. Anthony was just a really sweet guy.”

KATGBrotherDarkness: “He was the little brother. He was better than most of us. He suffered quietly, and never let it show except to a select few of which I like to think I'm lucky enough to have counted as one. He joked on you, and you joked on him. He knew you better than your friends because he was there more often than your "real" friends anyhow.”

UnCast: “I remember him on Inane Chatter hitting up all the girls (or gal-paling it as Spooky would call it). I think he genuinely wanted to be loved. Sure, respect by the guys was one thing but some sort of love and affection from the girls was natural. He soaked up all he could get and loved every bit of it. We'd give him a bit of shit and he'd throw it back. Always with a few corny jokes like "back" and "front" (always had to add in "slantways"...loved that he got that joke).
“The only people I ever saw him say an unkind word to was those who were unkind to others, especially the people he cared about most. He was always serious when the situation called for it and NEVER serious when it didn't. I have to say, for someone I've never met (and he'd call me ghey for even saying it) I loved the guy. I just wish I'd taken more chances to get to know him before he was taken from us. I sincerely think that my life has been changed due to him and I'm a better person today for having known him. And I only hope I can take a little bit of who he was and apply it to the way I treat others. He was a great man and I'm going to miss him dearly.”

Aine: “Anthony was one of the nicest people I ever knew. KATG was his life. He was always there for me to talk to when I was feeling like shit, and he knew I was always there for him. We got drunk together over the webcam and gossiped and bitched about people. He bought me the KATG hoodie for my 18th birthday. He was so special to me.”

Bebe: ”He made me laugh, he took care of me, and he kept me company when I was going through my relationship break up. He was practically in Europe with jorjo, Meagle and I. He was a good friend and a bit of a pervy weirdo, just the kind of guy I like. He was my go-to guy, always there to listen and bitch about people with. I will miss him so very, very much.”

Rhian: “I met Anthony after the first PalTalk tittie flash show, and yes he was demanding but funny. We compared many stories and medical things both very, very different. He was always there. And with his twisted humor, he made me laugh out loud in waiting rooms. He introduced me to music that I never thought I would like. We had many chats outside the KATG world, but thanks to the KATG world I got to meet and spend a select time with someone that is a true friend. I know he will be stirring up shit for us all down here and I will always call him a friend.”

Casbot: “Our hours and hours of conversations on Skype were punctuated with translations of terms and items provided by endless Wikipedia searches. He put up with my hundreds of questions about pointless things. He was my "America" expert. Sometimes the questions I asked were about things I already knew about, but his explanations were so worth it. He put up with my horrendous attempts at an American accent. He was unceasingly amused by my inadvertent use of the word ‘oi.’

“We played games of Scrabulous which eventually turned into a competition to see who could make the most obscene / profane / suggestive word out of the available letters. It sounds juvenile, but it's the most fun I've ever had playing Scrabble. We flirted outrageously in IC on the forums. Each post was an attempt to better the last. We were talking on Skype the whole time we were posting, giggling and egging each other on.

“Nothing about Anthony was ever predictable, except for his presence. You couldn't assume anything. His interests were so far-ranging, so diverse and unexplainable. I've never met anyone like him, and I don't expect I will again.
“I can honestly say he was my best friend.”

Thank you, Anthony for being part of our lives. Your friendship meant so much to us.
Simply put, Anthony was a great guy who was always there to brighten your day. He’s helped build this diverse group of misfits into the Keith and the Girl family it is today. We lost one of our brothers and he will be missed, but more importantly he will be remembered by us all.

Unhappy Thank you from Anthony's family and friends.

Hello everyone! My name is Cherie and I am Anthonys "aunt" through my friendship with his mother. I had never heard of Keith and the Girl until his mother explained how upset all of his online friends were. So she gave me the web address and I came online to check it out.

I will pass onto Joyce (his mom) all of the thoughts and prayers that I read today. Because his death came so quick and we are all in a tail spin of emotions right now, I'm sure that one day she would like to sit down and read them herself. So until then, from all of us who loved Anthony (windowsanddoors) to all of you who are also feeling the loss....thank you for all your prayers and well wishes.

Thanks for posting this, Rhi. And thanks to Grundle as well for arranging the flowers and donations with Rhi. It wouldn't have happened without you guys. Thanks also to Big Jim for writing the letter. Its wonderful.

Anthony really did have a big heart. I only really knew him from paltalk and the forums, but we always joked on each other and never ever took it seriously. He was a funny guy, that I wish I had more of an opportunity to get to know.

Welcome to Cherie, and thank you for passing along everyones well-wishes to the family. Anthony will be missed here.
