Looks like one hell of a fun weekend was had. Wish I had been closer, would definitely have been my kind of weekend. Camping, booze, and cool people.

Here's the pics I have that aren't redundant.
I'm a horrible photographer, but here are the ones from the hike that jmac, grundle, mrs. shadow and I took. 1) There was a cave on the map, we thought this must be it. 2,3,4) The real cave. It went back about 20 yards. 5) Part of the walk was on these rock walls, it was kind of slippery. 6,7) Scenic view near the top. 8) Park entrance. 9) Jeff in his hammock tent. |

Firewood? You mean burning sticks?
I did end up seeing Roy's Body Shop on the way back out. |

I finally made it home and didn't even get lost. Thanks Jeff for the atlas. It got me home 45 min quicker than Google did.
I still can't believe I fit all that shit in my car. By the time I got settled in it was time to start cooking. If you listen close you can hear them scream. Dinner is served. After almost falling in the fire a few times, I stumbled to bed. I wanted to sleep in but people were hungry and I had the only stove. Breakfast of champions. Pancakes, bacon, and crawfish eggs. (Thats regular eggs with the leftover crawfish tails, not the eggs from crawfish.) Team Hikers (Jmac, Mrs. Shadow, Me, EastTexas) We stood like this for a solid 2 min looking like ass holes cause it took a few tries to get the timer to work. The view from the overlook. My directions home got wet. Jeff hooked me up with an atlas which turned out better anyway. Thanks again Jeff.

That looks like a really fun time... good company, nice scenery, excellent food, beer and well.. I wish that I could have made it, but had to stay home this weekend.. camping would be hard with our 19 month old. Hopefully, next time.
I just have to say that I am very jealous, especially that crawfish boil.. wow! what a spread! |
