Tech takes KATG to warzone

Hey all,

I just got back from a cool trip - no not my trip to NYC with TDO to see Keiths stand up but a trip to Afghanistan - to bring ex-NHL'ers to play ball hockey with soldiers at the main base in Kandahar, Afghanistan. 7500 miles in each direction. Was asked to go about 2 weeks before Keiths stand-up in April and made quick decision to take a week off my day job and go along for the experience.

Traveled with the players and musicians in the Prime Ministers/Military Airbus 310 and Hercules CC-130's. I was traveling as a Sound Technician for some of the musicians on the tour. We did a music concert with video screen at each stop. We even had an incoming mortar attack and had to run to the bunkers. Really cool experience - first time the Stanley Cup has gone to war.

I also made sure I packed my katg shirt - and YES it was Wednesday when I wore it and NO it got me nowhere...hell, it WAS a war zone. Pay attention demmit! Girls with guns in camp are HAWT though.
