Oh! You Pretty Things, Life On Mars?, and Kooks are probably my favorites. Flow is great, and I also think it's his most accessible album. Lots of piano and big choruses.

What can I say, I like to be prepared and I like multi-function tools. Sometimes things just fit.

The Elliott Smit. Is one of the saddest albums I've ever heard.

Tried listening to this today. Finding it hard to get into. Not a huge bowie fan, but I live Ziggy.

I've been listening to these. Life on Mars? was my favorite song in spring 2007. Kooks makes me so happy and bright.

You sir, I like your taste.

Ok, the criteria for my top 5 is here is "my personal top 5," as in the albums that I've listened to the most and that have shaped me as a person and an artist. here we go!

1. The Beatles - The White Album. this was literally all I listened to for the 6 months following my first listen.

2. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. epic lo-fi fuzz-folk-marching-band music. definitely a hipster favorite, but for a reason.

3. Justice - Cross. very loud european retro/electro style dance music. this albu is finally got me to break down to and investigate the world of dance and I've been the better for it.

4. Pavement - Wowee Zowee. slacker 90s indie? too many pass on this sprawling, messy, brilliant masterpiece. there's gold to be found for those willing to dig.

5. Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come. definitely hardcore, but nonetheless incomparable. this album is start to finish revolution, with a total FUCKYOU of a title. unfortunately they were wrong as the bands that came after them were too hung up on imitating their sound and not their ethics and experimentation.
