BTW, just for kicks I took a few pics while on the cruise last week.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/czzyzx4...7600237734139/ Just a quick analysis... The cruise ship was Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas. Awesome ship and amazing crew. Our waiter was a photography buff so we talked a lot about it. I'm sure I got him in trouble. Had an awkwardly embarassing moment with one of our bartenders. Seems like the same 2 or 3 served us the whole cruise. I drank A LOT. Duty Free alcohol rules. Two liter sized bottles of Dewars 12 year scotch for $39.95 TOTAL. Here they run about $45 for one 750mL bottle. San Francisco isn't as bad as I thought it was. I've always stereotyped all NoCalers as being those annoying fucks who like to point out every little inaccuracy in anything you say or like telling you what is wrong with your life or how you're living and what you should do to be more like what THEY think you should be. The city's pretty OK. I wouldn't want to live there but I could spend a weekend a year there and enjoy it. Astoria, Oregon. Hick town on the river. Any time there's a forest on one side and a river or ocean on another, it's cool with me. Astoria is really beautiful but I definitely felt like one day was enough to see everything. Victoria is a place I think I could live for a long time and be happy. I don't know if it's just that stretch from the Parliament Building up to the Chinatown gate between Government and Douglas that's nice but everyone I met was really nice. Of course we hit every souvenier shop on the strip since my wife's name is Victoria. Had lunch at Irish Times pub and enjoyed the higher alcohol content in our Guinness. Tasted better too for some reason. Hit up the Rogers Chocolate, the Royal Museum, the Irish store for a nice whiskey glass and in the end we ran out of time. No gardens, no wax museum, nothing more FUN. Oh well. Next time. There will definitely BE a next time. Vancouver was ok. At that point we were all exhausted. Note I only took like 2-3 pictures. We stayed at the Listel, ate dinner at Hon's on Robson and spent some time at Granville Island. That was about it. Suck. Next time we'll start here so we can see more things. BTW, if anyone in Vancouver will buy a shirt from Hon's for me and send it off, I'll pay for the shirt and the shipping. My father-in-laws birthday is coming up and all he could talk about on the flight home was how disappointed he was for not buying one.
