Hey it was awesome to watch Keith's show live. The audio was great. It looked like multiple cams and was shot was well. It streamed perfectly. I hope KATG does this again next year.
One thing mentioned in chat was that although the show was shot well, there wasn't any shots of the audience. Hardcore fans, (who wondered if they recognized anyone) were kind of curious. Like, who's there? I don't know if asking for crowd shots is a pain in the ass. I watch stand up specials all the time and it can kind of take away from show. But with KATG I think it might help just because of fan interaction. It might be cool to see some after show interviews. People hanging out in green room. More Marathon - ish. Backstage stuff. Obviously asking for more means more cost, but maybe charge more? I also think promoting the 'Watch At Home' feature could have been pushed a bit more. Also worded a bit differently. "Virtual Tickets" can be a bit ambigous. Virtual makes it sound like you're buying an E-ticket that you print at home or something. Also, Because some KATG fans aren't up to date on shows, it might be wise to start announcing KATG Week tickets/ at home viewing as early as March 15th. And mention it every other/ or every 3rd show. As a longtime listener I appreciate that Keith and Chemda don't bore the audience with a lot of ads. Whenever there's a live read, they make it super fun. When it comes to promoting upcoming events and albums, I feel like K and C are somewhat shy about it. They don't want to bother fans. Anyways. This was long. Sorry. Hope there's something of value in it. Remember, fans WANT to support you. We want to buy your albums. We WANT to buy tickets. it's not simply 'Pushing Product' if you're giving people what they want. |

I agree with you, professor!
I will definitely include lots of this for next time. The problem was that WE got the stream info late from the venue so we were only able to post it rather than mention on the show. BUT that kind of stuff happens and that's why we tell people to follow us on social media, sign up to mailers, and join the forums. That being said, I hope to give a huge heads up next time and I noted what you said about "virtual" tickets. Thanks for your thoughts! And thanks for being part of the community. |
