Wedding So What Do We Do Now Story

I got married on last week (8th sept) and I have a So what do we do now? story.

We invited our best friend Svenja months ago with a invite that you must send back to say youre coming.
She sends the invite back saying she is coming and also she calls us every now and again to tell us about things (wedding related) that are going on.
Come the big day and everyone is here except Svenja. We are so embarrassed because we had to explain to all the guests why one was missing.

(we did it small with 13 guests so you can easily notice one is missing. 13 unlucky for some huh!)

We get married at 10am and then we head off home to change and get ready for the dinner. While changing my wife sends SVENJA a text message asking *translated from German* "What the fuck happened to you.. We suddenly felt bad because maybe something happened and she was at the hospital with her boyfriend or child.

Less than 5 minutes later I take a call from SVENJA. Shes crying and blubbering and mixing in German with English (I don't speak German very well yet).
She explains that she thought that the wedding was on Saturday and that she planned everything with the babysitter accordingly. Then she said she had a migraine and was lying in bed when she got our message (trying to make us feel bad).

Well my wife wont even talk to her about it cause it is ridicules that she got the wrong date. I mean what the fuck are calendars for!

So I am talking to SVENJA trying to claim her down so I can tell her that we are no longer interested in talking to her and that what she did was unforgivable. But she just kept on going on and on about how sorry she was and kept crying.

With no option I said.

Me= "So what do we do now?"

==long pause==

Svenja= "What?"

Me= I sigh not wanting to repeat the question

Svenja= "I don't know what to do?"

Me= "Svenja you missed our wedding we can't forgive you for that especially because your only excuse is that you got the wrong date. This just does not happen in this day and age"

== Long pause again I can also hear her crying like she pulled the phone away from her face, its really quiet==

Me= "Svenja? Are you there?"

Svenja= "Yeah I am here.... I am so so sorry."

Me= "I don't want to hear this Svenja I know your sorry but what do you expect us to do?!"

== Another long pause ==

Me= "So what do we do now!" (I thought why not ask again one last time before I destroy that phone)

Svenja= "I guess we should talk about this later"

Me= "Ok.. Maybe.. Goodbye"

== I can here her say wait but I hung up anyway Bitch!!!

Anyways nothing really special but I thought I would share.

Also I attached a picture of the day. As you can see we did not let the cow ruin it!

Yeah it was kind of unusual because I live in Berlin (I am from Edinburgh) and you don't see anyone wear a kilt very often.

Its the Mitchell tartan (my family tartan) which i had to get made for our wedding.

Its an old nickname I had from school.

WeeJames... then some one one day commented that i listened to good music anc called it "Jam'in" some how the nickname changed to WeeJamer. Stuck ever since

She did not care enough to make sure she had the right date and to something as important as a wedding.

Thats not right.

I guess that we will need to agree to disagree otherwise we will argue this all day.

My mate of 20-25 years got married on July 2 this year.

I was told it was July 2 two years ago, but I still went ahead and booked my holiday to the U.S. - flying out on July 2. Whoops.

I think he'd have preferred it if I had been there, but it was no big deal really. Plus his wife fucking detests me, so it kept her happy.
