It is great. I know PC people who prefer Neo-Office, it is another great piece of software as for working with different types of files.

Tweetdeck has completely changed the way I use Twitter.

In addition to the usual overview of people I'm following with options to reply to or directly message them, I can also choose to have several concurrent search terms locally and globally which show results from the last 48 hours and new results as they are tweeted.
Bryan had the nice idea of using it as an instant consensus machine for movies.

It also has a 'Twitscoop' function which trends all current activity on twitter. As you can see below, msn messenger's servers have gone down.

Makes me feel like Ozymandias.

Miro subscribes to all your video podcasts and automatically downloads them as the come out. Once downloaded, just click 'play' to watch in Miro's own video player.

Another one I use on OS X is Pic2Icon. It's more of a fun app than anything, but if you're into icons, you can drag & drop any .jpg or .png (works best because of transparency) and it'll make a nice OS X icon for you.

Download Pic2Icon

If I remember correctly, Miro also does torrents. So feel free to add your favorite TV shows to get all your media in one place. Miro uses VLC to playback files so no worries about formats.

Here's a post for those rocking dual monitors.

The trail version of Display Fusion allows windows users to use a different wallpaper on each monitor, either from a folder on your machine or it can search flickr.

The full version, for 10 bucks via paypal, enables customisable hotkeys and allows you to set your wallpapers to change at a selected interval.

EDIT: you can also do a dual wall if you wish:

Here's a look at my folders:

WinSplit Revolution is a small utility which allows you to easily organize your open windows by tiling, resizing and positioning them to make the best use of your desktop real estate.
You can use your numberpad to move them and even set applications to open in a postion by default. Invaluable for multiple monitors.

Hehe, i've had the offer of having my PC upgraded to Vista but i'm not game. I hear too many horror stories about Vista. Enough to outweight any good points at least.
