I think what I mean is that if you try to eliminate Xs then an X will either go underground or will pretend to be not-X. It's simple self preservation. There are some Xs who'll want to go out in a blaze of glory of course, shouting 'aaaaaaahhhh' as they defiantly charge you on their way out, but on the whole I think you'll just end up with stronger stealthier Xs this way.

That's Xs in general. When X is specifically a hater, who has to be unstealthy to be effective, then of course this is where my claim falls to the ground.

But I reserve the right to be concerned about stealthy haters regardless.

Stealth haters - like Badger's mystery CD posting hater - may have a rôle as sowers of discord and suspicion. I think they may be detectable, but I don't think they're infectious.
