My first ever CD was East 17's Steam.

The first CD i bought was White Zombie's Astro Creep 2000.

I doubt i have to mention that i no longer own any of East 17's music. They are to music what Jean Claude Van Damme is to movies. And i once owned a fair majority of his movies too.

The first album I ever owned was Alvin and the Chipmunks (I guess it was popular back then, since it's a lot of peoples firsts). I wish I still had it. I just remember I would play it year round, even though all the songs would be Christmas songs.

C&C Music Factory Pump up the Jam was my first CD I bought but B52's The B-52's was my first cassette. My mom gave it and a mono-speaker boombox to me in 1st grade. I remember walking around the schoolyard and recess playing the tape over and over again and scammin' on all the girls. Ah, the good ol' days.

The first CD I was ever given was the Grease soundtrack,
I really liked that movie when I was little and my brother had the CD
so he gave it to me.

The first cassette I was ever given was from McDonalds
it had something to do with songs sung by Ronald McDonald
and the other stupid characters, I don't remember much of it
except for a part where they're singing about an egg
and wondering what kind of egg it is and they sing
"does it have a beak or nose, or twenty-seven tiny toes!?"
---the 27 tiny toes cracked me up when I was 5.

As for actually buying for myself.

The first CD I bought was Journey's Greatest Hits
when I was 10 or so, I was really into 80s music
and songs like "Lights", "Don't Stop Believing", "Faithfully"
were the
the next day I remember going back to Wal-Mart and buying
Appetite For Destruction....I'm not big into either Guns N' Roses
or Journey now, but they're still okay bands to listen to when I'm bored of everything else.

The first Vinyl I bought (and the only one, since I don't own a record player
but just felt like buying something at the store) was
Simon and Garfunkel's "Bookends" album, it's one of my favorites.

Michael Jackson - Bad, and Neneh Cherry - Raw Like Sushi. I had a Phillips white tape player cube that has storage space for three cans of coke inside, it was the best thing ever I loved it.

They kinda run together, but the first 8-track, I believe was KISS' Double Platinum.

... you know yo' man is workin' hawd - KACHUNK! - he's worth a Deuce!

First LP was probably Queen's News Of The World, with that awesome Kelly Freas painting in the foldout. Shit gave me nightmares, but I loved it.

Tapes came in rapid succession, thanks to Columbia House, but Carly Simon's Come Upstairs comes to mind. The big single off that was "Jesse." Pretty rocking record for her, I seem to recall. The title track in particular was pretty risque for her, and this was probably during that big brouhaha that Donna Summer kicked up when she put that single out of her moaning for 4 minutes. Came in real handy a few years later, I can assure you. Love to love you, indeed.

From 79 to 83, I had a few dozen cassettes... Jacko, Men at Work, Culture Club, Footloose, very mainstream stuff. Plus, I had the neighborhood's first dual deck boombox, so I was pretty ballin' as a small-scale pirate. Certron's came 1.69/3 for 45x2's, and 45 minutes was sorta the industry standard length for LP's back in the day, so you could put 2 entire albums on a single cassette.

45's? Too many to count.

First CD was Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em, which my folks got me with my first CD player back in 1991. I went out and got The Cure's Mixed Up the next day.

I didn't get any 8-tracks or records.

My first tape "Cassingle" given to me was De La Soul - Me Myself & I.

First Cd I bought was Nirvana - Nevermind.

First MP3 stolen Bright Eyes - Falling Out of Love at This Volume.
