Last night I discovered "Hardcore War" mode on Call of Duty: World at War. It's fuckin' bad ass! No HUD, more bullet damage, friendly fire, and 18 players stalking around trying to kill each other.
It's hard, but way more fun because you have to rely on your ears and eyes a lot more than when you have a map and enemies show up in red, etc. I LOVE IT! |

Me and some friends just got ranked 16th, 17th, and 18th on Blood Drive in Horde mode of Gears 2. That's in the top 20 of the over 1,000,000 people who have played Horde on that map.
I'm going to go to sleep now. And never, ever play Blood Drive again. |

As for the balance board I believe the huge sales it has made will drive game developers to include its use in development. So right now it may or may not be cool but down the road you could see some creative use of the peripheral. Thats assuming down the road third party developers will actually create games that aren't just mini game collections. The problem with the wii is that its target audience does not support third party developers (excluding Guitar hero) and your quality game ratio will suffer. Ninetendo doesn't even help itself by slow rolling its own higher quality games onto the market, or rush garbage rehash efforts like Animal Crossing. I love animal crossing, just disappointing they didn't do anything more than port the ds game to wii. I could potentially consider picking up a wii but my dreamcast has better graphics, and my forearms dont need exercise. |
