OUCH!!!!!!

An Xbox rep told me to never plug your system into a power strip, he said that the big grey brick is essentially a power strip already and doubling up causes the system to over heat.

Maybe that is bullshit, still im not taking that chance.

I got my system from my room mate dirt cheap because it had 2 RRoD, since I purchased it it has ran perfectly.

I don't think its fair to compare mass effect and Fallout3. One games strength's are another games weakness's. You cant deny that fallout 3 kicks mass effects ass when it comes to re-playability, exploration, and what I call the "consenquence-engine" (being good-nuetral-bad).

I loved mass effect but I have already played more Fallout3 with only one character and only half the main story completed (60 hours). Than I have with mass effect two full play-throughs second time on a hard difficulty and in that second time the side missions were an unbearable SHIT chore, being the opposite attitude made ZERO difference to the story game-play and ending.

If you want to compare 12 hours of one time only 1 week game rentals of mass effect and fallout3 mass effect wins. You want to compare a 60 dollar game purchase that will constantly suck you back into a world of options with well over 300 hrs of unique game play. Then Fallout 3 WOOPS mass effects stereotypical scifi 10 hr movie ass. I will give credit to mass effect being the first game ever to make me look forward to conversations/dialogue but I wont play it ever again for its mediocre gameplay, and yet I will still be playing Oblivion (still have not beaten the main quest 160 hrs of gameplay) and fallout3 for years to come.

If only bioware and bethesda could get married and make a game, then in 2015 we would have the greatest rpg ever made. meanwhile FF13 will still have 3 guys in a line waiting for their turn to begin.

and to all who are mad that your nostalgic love was ignored in FO3, I dont really know what to say. I played FO2 so long ago I dont remember anything more than becoming addicted to drugs, and shooting worms in octagons. Im glad that bethesda stuck with what they are good at and made a game that will give me tons and tons of fun game play (imperfect yes but endlessly fun all the same)

I think it's perfectly fine. I don't get paid to review games, so I can say whatever I want about them and relate one to another in any way I see fit.

And yes I can very much deny the second part of that quotation there. I think this is where the whole point of subjectivity in gaming comes around, as standardman has talked about before.

I am more interested by Mass Effect... simple as that. I wouldn't care if Fallout 3 had 700 hours of gameplay, if I found it to be dry and boring - which I already do, so its supposed 300+ hours of gameplay doesn't really hook me. I finished the main storyline and a good deal of the side quests at just over 130 hours. I didn't finish quests like the Nuka Cola one because I got bored.

I'm sorry our ideas of what makes the perfect game aren't the same. But man, if I'm getting bored BEFORE I've completed the meat of the game... there's a problem there somewhere. To stir up the shit even more.. although Fallout 3 is a greater accomplishment on almost every level, I still liked Oblivion better. I spent more time with it, skipped more classes because of it, and enjoyed the world more (even though I hate that whole fantasy genre). As for Fallout, I'm done with it and will likely never play it again. As for Mass Effect, I played it through a few times and loved it every time. I guess that makes me one of the cRaZieeeEEEsssSSS?!?!

+1 for Anti Fallout

No, just anti-Fallout 3...

I also realized I heard nothing of Ron Perlman's voice over outside of the start! Sigh. Maybe there wasn't loads more in the earlier Fallout games, but I tend to remember more. And hell, it had Keith David TOO! (god, I loved him in ME)

Anyway - I think your dislike and mine are slightly different. For me, it's not JUST the issues you've brought up, but the removal of immersion that Oblivion (I almost said "the first one" which really is about on par with my thoughts...) had.

ANYWAY. It's simple, I wasn't into Oblivion, I'm not into Fallout and I know at this point I'll never be into a Bethesda game, ever. Just like I know GTA games just aren't my bag. I have no doubt, which makes future game purchases that much easier

Onto ME btw, I have blown an easy 60 hours in the game and it never loses its appeal. I know in comparison it's simple, but just the scenery, the music, the EXTRA high quality VO work that's there... EVERYTHING is just teh awesome, in my mind. See, I can look over the flaws it has. Even on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough, although there was some dialogue I skipped, and even though some of the quests felt tedious (because I'd done them at least once before) I never disliked the entire experience.

I think that's the first time I've liked a game THAT much, outside of Final Fantasy 3 (US) and Super Metroid/Metroid Prime

So you dont think a teaming of bioware and bethesda would create the perfect game? Mass Effects great writing and cinematic feel with FO3/Oblivions Open World Sand box exploration and character development.

Anywho I didnt mean to ignore subjectivitiy and preference. If your bored your bored. I could understand why a different gamer than myself would enjoy a finer tuned shorter rpg experience like Mass Effect.

And liking Oblivion more than FO3 is not shocking at all. Whenever I play FO3 this part of me misses the lush Beautiful Middle earth feel. I also love to shoot deer with a bow, and its the only time in my life I considered that act to be fun.

I guess when I get my box back, I won't plug it into a power strip. Thanks for the info!
