I've decided to replay the Metroid games. Instead of the NES orginal, I started with Zero Mission, the GBA remake.

Gotta say, playing this is a pleasure, such a wonderful treatment of a classic. It highlights and adds to the smart level design, fluid animation and sense of atmosphere without changing it so much that it feels like a completely different game.

I think I'll skip Metroid II, it always felt it was too linear and I'm looking forward to Super Metroid.

Always loved the side-scrolling Metroid games. Good plan on playing Zero Mission first. Great game.
Super Metroid is up there in my top games ever played. Should be some good gaming.

Yeah, great games. Only ever player, 1, 2 and Super before, along with the first Prime. No love for the Prime series?

I liked the Prime series. I haven't played the Wii incarnation yet, but I always thought they were a great first person take on the platforming from the side scrollers. And they never lost the feel of the Metroid universe.

Absolutely, I was astounded by how well they pull it off. Gonna wait for the Trilogy to play the other two games.

Anyone know of any good RPG style games for the PS3 not called Final Fantasy? I'm looking for something to burn some time with I have a vacation coming up in a couple weeks. A few people have told me the Valkyria Cronicles anyone tried that out?

I never did get into the Valkyrie games but according to my brother each one has been amazing (don't think he's played the latest one but he's played and beaten the other two) so it's probably a good bet for an RPG.
