The 72 hour schedule and the one save slot go hand in hand. You have to play through in "survival mindset" and not stray too far from the story. You can stray, of course, but then if your sidetrack doesn't end up helping you in any way, you've just lost precious time.

If you could save multiple slots, then the time-limit would be pointless because you could just reload anytime a sidetrack proved pointless.

PS- I have my hands on my new used copy at this moment. I'm happy.

The time limit was my primary frustration with the game. It's a hell of a lot of fun because of all the freedom you have, sticking a time limit on it is the anti-funs.

That is what i haven't encountered yet. I only really just got into the mall as i had to come to work but from what i've seen, it's rather large. I understand the time limit is part of the game but why they gave you hundreds of different items to use and a limited time to use them is dumb.

I'm hoping there is at least some type of free play mode to run around killing zombies. If not, i might have to blow off the story until i get my fill of zombie smacking.

I was given a copy of Crackdown yesterday. Dead Rising got shelved soon after.

It's probably the only GTA style game that i'd rather run around then travel by car. Jumping from building to building is too much fun.

It's an FPS, so keyboard and mouse. I suggest giving Introversion's games on steam a look, great games with mostly mouse control. DEFCON is like playing the movie War Games in real time.
